Total Workplace Safety Training
This unit develops the skills and knowledge required to participate in rescue operations as a member of a rescue team and underpins specialist rescue activities across industrial, rural, bush, and extreme environments.
Delivered on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd (RTO 90909), the course is suitable for personnel in emergency services, volunteer organisations, and related industries who are commencing operational team roles. Participants will work under supervision while completing defined rescue tasks in simulated scenarios. Training aligns with relevant Commonwealth and State or Territory legislation, Australian and New Zealand standards, and industry codes of practice.
This nationally recognised course equips participants with the skills and knowledge to operate as part of a rescue team during road crash and industrial incidents. It is suitable for emergency responders, volunteers, and personnel working in high-risk industries.
Delivered on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd (RTO 90909), the course provides practical, scenario-based training in scene assessment, risk management, vehicle and casualty stabilisation, and extrication techniques using hydraulic, pneumatic, and manual rescue tools. Participants will also develop skills in coordinating with emergency services and medical personnel, maintaining WHS/OHS compliance, and preserving incident evidence. Training can be tailored to reflect site-specific vehicles, machinery, and operational requirements.
This course provides learners with the opportunity to gain experience in realistic confined space rescue operations across a range of scenarios. A confined space is determined by the hazards associated with a set of specific circumstances and not just because work is performed in a small space.
This unit of competency involves the skills and knowledge required to undertake rescues in confined spaces as a member of a single organisation or team involving multiple organisations. The unit is applicable to a range of confined space rescue situations undertaken by personnel from the emergency services, volunteer organisations and/or organisations where confined space work is performed. It provides the knowledge along with the practical training to operate a range of rescue equipment and techniques for the safe extraction of injured or ill persons from a confined space.
The skills in this course are applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian/New Zealand standards and industry codes of practice. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
Individuals within the fire sector or who are completing this unit, contributing to the attainment of a fire qualification, must hold the pre-requisite units of: PUAFIR306 Identify, detect and monitor hazardous materials at an incident and PUASAR022 Participate in a rescue operation.
This nationally recognised unit develops the practical skills required to carry out vertical rescue operations across natural and manmade environments, including cliffs, towers, confined structures, and industrial settings.
Delivered on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd (RTO 90909), the course is designed for emergency services personnel, volunteers, and those working in high-risk industries. Participants will learn to assess rescue scenes, apply WHS/OHS principles, establish safe rope-based rescue systems, and operate industry-standard equipment including fall arrest systems, stretchers, and specialised PPE. Training includes risk assessment, edge protection, team-based rescue operations, equipment maintenance, and operational briefings and debriefings.
This is a physically demanding course requiring participants to work at height, ascend and descend ropes, and operate in challenging environments. Prior experience working at heights and using fall protection equipment is recommended.
This course set is designed for the non-fire sector and is tailored for participants who already hold current confined space, gas testing, and breathing apparatus competencies. It assumes an existing level of operational experience.
Delivered on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd (RTO 90909), the course prepares individuals to participate in rescue operations across a range of industrial, rural, bush, and extreme environments, including confined spaces. Participants will develop the skills to respond to emergency situations, identify hazards, implement control measures, execute a rescue plan, and safely extricate casualties while minimising risk to themselves and others.
