HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
Cardiac arrest is a life-threatening emergency where early intervention can significantly improve survival. This course teaches participants how to recognise and respond to a cardiac emergency, call for assistance, and perform effective CPR on an unconscious person who is not breathing normally.
Training is delivered in line with Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines and is conducted on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd (RTO 90909). The course includes the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), minimising interruptions to compressions, managing regurgitation or vomiting, and safely handing over to emergency services.
Participants will also learn how to review an incident and recognise potential psychological impacts following a response.
HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid
This first aid course provides practical training aligned with legal, workplace, and community requirements, as well as Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines and other national clinical bodies. Training is delivered on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd (RTO 90909) and equips participants with the skills to recognise emergencies and provide immediate and effective first aid for illness or injury.
The course covers casualty assessment, scene safety, accessing emergency services, and delivering first aid including CPR, use of a defibrillator, management of anaphylaxis, asthma, choking, bleeding, and shock, as well as immobilisation techniques for envenomation, fractures, dislocations, sprains, and strains. Participants will also learn basic anatomy and physiology, the chain of survival, effective incident reporting, and how to review responses and recognise psychological impacts.
HLTAID014 – Provide Advanced First Aid
High-risk situations such as multiple casualty incidents, extrication, or life-threatening injuries require confident and well-practised responders. This course provides practical, scenario-based training to build the skills needed to manage and coordinate an advanced first aid response in real-world situations.
Delivered on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd (RTO 90909), the course aligns with legal, workplace, and community requirements, Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines, and other national clinical bodies. Participants will learn advanced first aid skills including CPR, management of hypothermia and hyperthermia, head, neck and spinal injuries, use of tourniquets and haemostatic dressings for severe bleeding, and care of casualties in shock. The course also covers incident documentation, debriefing, recognising psychological impacts, and seeking support when required.
HLTAID015 – Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy
This course has a prerequisite of HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid and is designed for those who may be required to provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy in community or workplace settings. Training is delivered in line with Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines and the First Aid Code of Practice.
Delivered on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd (RTO 90909), the course uses simulated real-life scenarios to develop skills in first aid, CPR, resuscitation, and oxygen therapy, including the use and maintenance of specialised equipment. Participants will learn advanced techniques such as airway adjunct insertion, safe oxygen administration, and the use of tourniquets and haemostatic dressings for life-threatening bleeding. The course also covers casualty documentation, incident handover, debriefing, and recognising psychological impacts.
HLTPAT005 – Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing
This course applies to individuals involved in collecting specimens for drugs of abuse testing and provides the skills required to prepare clients and equipment, confirm collection requirements, and collect urine, oral, and breath specimens in line with legislative and industry requirements.
Delivered on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd (RTO 90909), training aligns with Commonwealth and State or Territory legislation, Australian and New Zealand standards, and industry codes of practice. The course is suitable for those working in collection centres, hospitals, healthcare settings, and workplaces where drugs of abuse testing is conducted. Participants are also required to complete a minimum of 18 hours of supervised work activities within a two-week period.
RIIERR205D – Apply initial response first aid
This course provides participants with the skills and knowledge to respond effectively to workplace emergencies and deliver initial first aid until professional medical assistance arrives. It is designed for workers in the coal and metalliferous mining industries and focuses on practical first aid skills for a range of emergency situations.
Delivered on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd (RTO 90909), the course covers assessing a casualty’s condition, monitoring vital signs, and providing essential care while awaiting medical assistance. Participants will learn first aid procedures for common workplace injuries including bleeding, burns, sprains, strains, and envenomation, as well as appropriate hygiene measures. Training also includes recording and monitoring casualty information, documenting first aid responses, and effectively communicating details to emergency services or relieving personnel in line with WHS and industry standards.
HLTSS00068 – Occupational First Aid Skill Set
This course is suitable for people working in, or preparing for, nominated occupational first aider roles. It provides advanced training aligned with Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines, WHS legislation, safe work practices, and the First Aid Code of Practice.
Delivered on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd (RTO 90909), the course uses simulated real-life scenarios to develop skills in advanced first aid, resuscitation, oxygen therapy, ongoing casualty monitoring, handover to emergency services, and incident debriefing. Participants will also learn to develop and maintain first aid action plans, conduct workplace risk assessments, manage first aid resources and equipment, and complete required documentation, including maintenance and stock control of resuscitation, oxygen, and first aid equipment.
